This qualification has been designed to provide a broad range of skills appropriate to a person operating as a front-line employee in reception operations and services within the hospitality industry with some supervisory responsibilities. It brings together the theoretical and practical elements of front office operations and services and is applicable to all sectors of hospitality, from small bed and breakfast establishments to large scale hotels. This qualification will help to professionalise the hospitality industry.

Duration

The programme duration is 1 year on a full-time basis.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the whole programme, i.e. competence achieved in the summative assessments, the successful completion of the WIL component, and provided the learners PoE is found competent, the learner will receive a Damelin Results Letter outlining the outcomes covered. Damelin will apply to CATHSSETA on the learners behalf for the Further Education and Training Certificate: Reception Operations and Services: SAQA ID 65829 (Credits 126) to be awarded.
